• What is Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask?

  The Silk'n LED EMS Face Mask is the ultimate anti-ageing tool that contains various LED light colours, Near-Infrared and Deep Near-Infrared technology, but above all, EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) technology. This mask not only tackles skin challenges such as signs of ageing, acne-related redness, pigmentation, or dry skin but also improves elasticity and trains your muscles for a younger-looking and lifting effect.

• How does LED light work?

  The LED light (red, dark red and amber) is absorbed by the epidermis and dermis, the two upper layers of the skin. This process triggers cellular activity, which helps to renew skin cells and repair ageing tissue. It reduces fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates collagen, helps to improve blood circulation and evens the skin tone. After each session, the skin looks more beautiful and radiant than before.
  
  Near-Infrared technology is an invisible light that reaches the deeper layers of the skin and supports the production of collagen and elastin. For more volume and a smoother appearance.
  
  Within the remote control you can find blue LED light which helps to reduce acne-related redness with more precision.

• Which skin problems are tackled by the different modes of the Silk'n LED EMS Face Mask?

  • Mode 1 – Red LED light (633nm) + Dark red LED light (660nm) + Near-Infrared (830nm) + Deep Near-Infrared (1072nm):
  Anti-ageing, helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reconstructs collagen and elastine fibres, and improves microcirculations for firmer and tighter skin.
  
  • Mode 2 – Amber LED light (605nm) + Dark red LED light (660nm) + Near-Infrared (830nm) + Deep Near-Infrared (1072nm):
  Helps to reduce pigmentation and redness, calms the skin and promotes the production of collagen for a more even skin tone and tighter skin.
  
  • Mode 3 – Red LED light (633nm) + Dark red LED light (660nm):
  Helps to balance oil secretion, soothes sensitive skin and reduces redness.
  
  • Mode 4 – Blue LED light (405nm):
  Accelerates the fading of acne-related redness for a more even skin tone.
  Please note, this mode is located at the top of the controller, not in the mask itself.

• What is the wavelength for each technology?

  Blue LED light is 405nm.
  Amber LED light is 605nm.
  Red LED light is 633nm.
  Dark red LED light is 660nm.
  Near-Infrared is 830nm.
  Deep Near-Infrared 1072nm.

• What is the irradiation?

  • Mode 1 – 61 mW/cm² (633+660+830)

• How does EMS technology work?

  The EMS technology stimulates muscle contraction using electrical impulses. It improves blood circulation, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, trains the muscles, gives you a facial workout, and provides that lifting effect you are looking for.
  There are 8 intensity levels, so you are able to choose a level that is suitable for you. We recommend starting at the lowest level and building up gradually, as long as it feels comfortable for you. The EMS current is emitted on both sides of the face, targeting critical facial area modules like the masseter muscle, corners of the mouth, cheeks, and eye area. Each area is powered for 3 seconds respectively, followed by a 0.5-second relaxation period (power-off).

• How should I wear the mask?

  The mask can be placed on your face with adjustable straps. However, to ensure good contact between the skin and the EMS electrodes, as well as optimal results from the LED lights, make sure to wear the mask tightly around your face.

• Why does the EMS sensation feel stronger or weaker at times?

  The intensity of the EMS sensation on the skin can vary between treatments due to several factors, including humidity levels in the air, your skin's hydration, and the type or thickness of any cream or serum applied before use. These factors can affect conductivity, making the EMS sensation feel stronger or weaker at different times. Therefore, the EMS level that feels comfortable for you may vary. We always suggest using the highest EMS level that still feels comfortable.
  If you apply a serum or cream before your treatment, please ensure that the skincare product is compatible with LED light technology.

• Is it suitable for everyone?

  It is suitable for both women and men, for all skin types and all skin colours. However, this device is not designed for everyone's condition. Please read the contraindications in the user manual before you start your sessions.

• Is it safe?

  After extensive testing, Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask has been found to be safe to use in a typical home environment by both men and women. Always read the manual carefully before using Silk'n LED EMS Face Mask.

• Does a session hurt?

  No, it does not hurt. You will only feel a mild sensation of warmth during your session when using the LED function. You may also experience slight redness of the skin during and just after the treatment, but this will quickly fade.
  When using the EMS function, you will feel a tingling sensation caused by electrical impulses. We advise always starting at the lowest level and increasing gradually based on your comfort level. You might notice some imprints on your skin from the electrodes, but these should fade within a few hours. If you experience any discomfort, stop using the device and contact your physician.
  We recommend reading the user manual before starting your session.

• How should I use Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask?

  After fully charging the Silk'n LED EMS Face Mask, thoroughly clean and dry your face, neck, and hands. Make sure they are free from any makeup or dirt. Sit or lie down and place the mask over your face. You can use the straps to fit the mask comfortably on your face. Ensure that the electrodes are in good contact with the skin. Turn on the device and select one of the modes. Modes 1, 2 and 3 will take 10 minutes. If mode 4 is used, remove the mask from the face and place the remote with the three blue LED lights against the skin, ensuring a targeted treatment.

• Should I apply a serum or cream before the session?

  Some skincare products contain ingredients that can be photosensitive or reactive when exposed to LED light. Therefore, we advise performing the session on clean, dry skin, free from any makeup, dirt, serum or cream. Apply a serum or cream after your session to hydrate the skin. However, if you choose to use one beforehand, ensure it is compatible with LED light and fully absorbed before starting your session.

• How long does a session take?

  One session takes 10 minutes in which 1 preferred mode will be active. The mask automatically switches off after 10 minutes.
  
  If you wish to treat a specific spot on the skin with the blue LED light in the remote control, a session takes 3 minutes. The remote control switches off automatically after 3 minutes.
  
  Important: we advise not treating your skin for longer than 10 minutes per session.

• How often should I use it?

  Do not use the Blue LED light or EMS mode for more than 10 minutes per session, and max. 3 sessions per week. If you are using the product for the first time, follow the schedule below:
  • First week - Use once every 3 days, max. 10 minutes at a time.
  • Second week - Use once every 2 days, max. 10 minutes at a time.
  • Third week - Use once every 2 days, max. 10 minutes at a time.
  • Fourth week - Use once every day, max. 20 minutes at a time.
  As soon as results show, adjust the frequency to once or twice per week.

• When can I expect results?

  The effect of using this product mainly depends on your skin type. Additionally, results vary from person to person. Normally you can expect results in about 2-3 weeks.

• Should I do anything after the session?

  After the session, you can apply a serum and/or a day/night cream to nourish your skin.

• Can I sunbathe?

  Yes. Because Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask is not a laser, you can sunbathe immediately before or after the session. You don’t necessarily need to use a SPF cream after the session, although this is always recommended due to the general ageing effect of UV light on the skin.
  

• Is there any recovery time?

  Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask works differently from laser, so there is no recovery period. The risk of skin damage is greatly reduced. You can immediately carry on with your daily activities.

• At what age can it be used?

  This device is suitable from the age of 18 and up.

• Can I use this device when I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

  No, you may not use this device when your are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Should I close my eyes during the session?

  No, that is not necessary.

• Can I use this device if I have dermal fillers, Botox or have undergone professional (surgical) procedures like a facelift, micro needling and ablative RF/laser?

  This product was not tested on anyone who had had dermal fillers, Botox or professional (surgical) procedures. We cannot therefore advise using this product in such cases. If one of these conditions applies to you, we advise you to check with your physician before using the LED EMS Face Mask.
  
  In case you underwent micro needling or ablative RF/laser, we advise to wait till your skin has completely healed before you use the mask. In case you have any concerns, consult your doctor first before you use the mask.

• How do I clean my mask?

  You can clean the mask using a damp cloth or a water-based wipe. Then wipe it dry with a dry cloth.
